Why IR Scanning ?
The most effective way to maintain an electrical system is to detect the approach of any electrical failure or mis-operation and take the corrective action that will PREVENT any interruption in system operation. And that is precisely the concept behind regular "Thermographic inspection" of electrical system components.
By use of heat-sensing instruments, each and every terminal, connection, and point of potential failure is "scanned" to derive a "thermogram" - a "picture" that reveals any points of excessive heating and, possibly, an electrical failure.
Every six months, an infrared scan should be scheduled to pinpoint potential problems in electrical systems before a failure occurs. It permits preventive maintenance that not only promotes uninterrupted system operation, but also extends the useful service life of equipment.
And because this test method reveals the approach of problems well in advance of failure, maintenance priorities may be set according to the seriousness of different problems - thereby controlling and reducing scheduled shutdown time for maintenance. Locating potential failures before they occur can be factored into reducing insurance costs by preventing damage to property and personal injuries.
Intelligent design. Quality support. Reinvented.
